Twelfth week on Vänö

This week we had a wedding in the chapel of Vänö. The bride and  the groom was arrived in a carriage pulled by a horse. All my best wishes to the newlyweds!
For mid-summer, there was a karaoke organized to the culturehouse. There were a hundred people who came that night. I was placed to grill the sausages, but I still could have some fun. Not as much as Miss McAbre I think ...
Mid-summer, an opportunity to sleep late, slipping and falling down in many places of the island ... Here is a glimpse of the sky between 03.30 and 04.30 the following morning.
For finish this week, the first kid's club. Program: making balls placed in socks for make bolas, circus training, and a to draw circus tree with finger paint. The kids had fun, and Eelin, Rasmus and me too I think ... Thank you Marika for this beautiful picture!

Eleventh week in Finland

This week I was in Turku, we had good weather and some rain at the end. We had to buy what we needed for the kid's club this summer. On these pictures, a small train (with gasoline) and girls who rowed on the river. Ho-Hisse!
I also met Lee from Estonia and Ykson from New Caledonia, they come for a preliminary visit for a youth exchanges with islanders, about music. I was the translator for Ykson. On this picture, we were met the Pia's group in the cathedral's park.
Eelin and Lee who cooked ... It has been delicious! You can repeat whenever you want ...
To finish the week we went back to Vänö, there was no one happier than Miss McAbre, who was tired of the city ... She, on the ferry boat.

Tenth weeks on Vänö

This week, I went for a boat delivery with Magnus and Rasmus. We received an electric sauna and stones at the port of Vänö, then we delivered it on another nearby island by taxi boat. A difficult delivery, because the bridge of the island concerned, had gone during the winter ...
I also accompanied Petra and Inês, who moved the sheep. In Vänö, sheep were loaded on a special ferry. Then we went on two small islands nearby. Brown sheep on one island, white on another. Without discrimination ... Something very interresting to see!
Always with Petra and Inês, I went into the path in the forest to help them to make the finishes. Including reviewing all signs to help future visitors to find the right way.
Eelin and I have also collected four boxes of the geocaches; for future orientation races. They needed to be prepared for this summer. I have brought them in their place, and I possess the secret of their location ... How much money are you ready to give me for the information ?
We received four guests, who came here to visit Vänö, and to prepare the various future projects together. In this pictures, Eelin, Pia and Pekka, Edwin from Venezuela and Ana from Brazil. I hope the mosquitos in the forest didn't scare you and you will want to return. We had a nice sauna and swim in the sea anyway!
Miss McAbre, meanwhile, was not feeling very well this last week. It's thus quite natural that she started to play the Tibetan bowl to rebalance the air around her ... So, she's getting better, and me too!

Nineth week in Finland

This week, I spent some days in Turku before returning to Vänö. Small glimpse, of the city, when I did some sight-seeing!
This was the work that was waiting for me in Vänö. Cutting the grass around the culturehouse, in good company, because I was with Inês and Petra. This job need to be repeateded every week, apparently because it grows fast. Indeed, in ten days, the trees are covered with leaves, flowers everywhere and the grass of 20cm, 50cm in some places!
Here is the bow that I bought in Turku. I do not know why I love this kind of stuff who shoot arrows, It's super beautifull, covered with leather to match the quiver, unfortunately, I only have two arrows for the moment.

The only volunteer I found to test my precision was Miss McAbre. She was scared at first, she began to run away to escape for me, but I promised everything would go well and she accepted. Trembling, screaming, she saw the arrow coming and hitting the apple on her head. I would not have liked to be in her place ...
