Sixteenth week on Vänö

To see the children in sailboats inspired me to try it ... I was asked if it's the first time that I doing it, and that was the case. Apparently it was hard to believe it, because I managed very well Maija said to me.
This weekend, we had Wooden boat day. A nice picnic on a small island near of Vänö, where we went in wooden boat, in a convivial atmosphere. In the evening a concert of accordion players. An amazing affluence...
This is the end of the archipelago's rangers mission, which lasted for three months. A perception that the time passed quickly, and the opposite at the same time. This week they came to make their Youthpass, before being left everyone on their side.
For the Kid's Club, we have taught to them a ball game, we showed them some magic tricks, and we concluded with an introduction to circus arts. One more time, they were happy.
Recently, Miss McAbre has guarded the garden of tomatoes and pumpkins. She says that she prevents the robbers approach ... But I suspect her of wanting to be the first to collect them!

Fifteenth week on Vänö

This week, I had some work, alone in the path. It was pulling weeds, and cut the brambles that had grown since the last time. An occasion to eat lot of berries...
Since the beginning of the month, and until the end of the month, there is a watercolor exhibition of an Italian artist about Tuscany, in the Cuture house. So I keep it open as often as possible.
For the Kid's Club, once again it went too fast for me and I forgot to take pictures ... The children has made juggling balls with the help of Rasmus and Petra, and I have animated a circus workshop for them.
The big activity of the week, is the sailing course for children. Unfortunately, those days were very windy ... We trailing them by boat, to familiarize them with their rudder. But some lucky children had the opportunity to sail alone. Maija, Eirik and Tommy are very good teachers, they have also learned us to make the nodes, a great discovery for me.
When we pulled the children, Tommy let me drive his boat for a while ... Cool ...
And Miss McAbre there also got it ...

Fourteenth week on Vänö

I started this week by creating a poster of Reunion Island. We have many visitors to Vano right now, and every time someone asks me "where do you come from?". It's the better way to answer them, with a lot of information and pictures, though it's only a pale shadow of what they can really see, if they come to Reunion Island. A part history, a part population, a part religions, a part relief and landscape and a part fauna and flora.
This weekend, it was Vänö day. During the afternoon, we had a fish soup, waffles, a lottery, a competition for children, where everyone has won some candy, a competition for elder children, where some people almost drowned themselves, trying to catch an apple in a bucket of water. I also facilitated a circus workshop.
In the evening we had a concert of "Carolina Woods and the peckers": the audience seemed addicted of this performance... And I made two small shows of juggling: the audience seemed happy, but I still wonder why? matter of... perfectionist.
For the Kid's Club, it's as if a tornado had passed at the culture house, about fifteen children was there, and this is the only photo I have took at the end. They began blowing bubbles outside, then Rasmus and me helped them to build a kite. They were happy... Thanks to the parents who gave a helping hand!
Miss Mcabre, sitting on the seat of the tractor, told me she was born the same year as the tractor: 1956. Deductionshe is 56 years old! And she seem as fresh as a young woman!

Thirteenth week on Vänö

This week, we went to visit Ramon in Brannskär. 1h30min to get there, 1h30min for the return. Magnus was driving the boat, with the help of Rasmus as copilot. Many things are changed Brannskär since I was there. A pontoon for boats was constructed. Ramon looked happy and he told us about his mid-summer there.
Inhale ... Exhale ... This weekend, we received the visit of two Yoga instructor, Mia and Asta. A good time spent to rebalance the energies in our bodies. Really interresting.
The big job of the week Vänö was the cutting and harvesting of grass for the sheep in the field. After the grass was cut, we had to to pass the rake around the gutters to prepare the passage of the tractor which would draw together in long grass line. Then, a second tractor would make bales, which were then loaded onto the bed of another tractor for storage to the shed. Finally, we had to to pass a rake to pick up the few straws that remained on the ground. All this before the arrival of rain to avoid losses, of course.
For the Kid's Club, we have in addition to animation circus, continued drawing the tree circus that we started last time. We colored circus animals to stick them on the tree. We also made a paper airplane competition, and my plane was the best, because it was not the same folding technique. But I shared my knowledge. We finished with the manufacture of several Astro-Jack that children brought to their home.
"The simple happiness to lie down in the grass and watch the clouds, insects as friends."
_Miss McAbre quote....
